Welcome to Meoncross School
A child's educational journey should be as unique as they are. We pride ourselves on our holistic approach whereby every child has the individual attention they need to thrive and succeed both in and out of the classroom. At Meoncross, every child is safe to say ‘I can be the best possible ME’.
We are very proud to be a through school for children aged 2.5 - 16 years, meaning we can welcome children into our school at any point in their educational journey. This could be at a natural key stage transition point such as starting 'big school' in Reception, Juniors in Year 3, or Upper School in Year 7, or anything in between.
Academic achievement is high, but so is our focus on wellbeing, as we know that happy children are high achieving children. We nurture our pupils and develop the characteristics and qualities we know they will need to build bright futures.
Excellent Academics
We were ranked 21st nationally in Times Parent Power Guide in 2025, and we have a proven track record of achieving excellence when it comes to academic results. Our pupils routinely achieve results well above the national average, from our Early Years to key Primary stages and GCSE results.
Holistic Approach
Emotional intelligence is just as important as academic achievement and we want our pupils to be confident, compassionate and capable young people. We believe it’s crucial to develop a child’s character through teaching transferable skills that will help them to thrive in the future.
We Are Meoncross
We have a strong family ethos, and instil a sense of great pride in our school community. We look after, support and encourage each other to always be our best.
At Meoncross, we often talk about the right school being “a feeling”, and in our school film we wanted to convey what a special and unique feeling there is at our school.
We hope you enjoy watching our film, and we look forward to welcoming you to experience Meoncross in person if you would like to find out more.
“Family is our central value and that means we are accepting, that we are kind to each other, we seek to understand and appreciate each other.”

Our Key Stage 1 children had a fantastic time on their recent trip to the beach for a special Music and Drama session led by Mrs Allen. 🎶🏖
With the sound of the sea in the background, pupils threw themselves into lively parachute games designed to help them explore musical pitch in a fun and physical way. 🌈
One of the highlights was singing and performing Let’s Go Swimming 🐟, a joyful song about a group of silly fish who set off on new underwater adventures each day. The children loved acting out the story, using their voices and bodies to bring the characters to life. 📚🌊
There was plenty of time to explore the beach, too. Pupils collected stones, shells and seaweed to experiment with different ways to create sounds 🐚🔍. Tapping, scraping and rustling, they discovered how everyday objects can be turned into instruments, creating their own mini beach percussion band. 🥁🎸
It was a wonderful day full of creativity, imagination and lots of laughter - a brilliant example of learning outside the classroom.

“Does coastal management prevent erosion at Hengistbury Head?” 🏖
That is what our Year 10 Geographers visited Hengistbury Head to investigate...🕵️♂️🕵️ This is their first of two compulsory field work experiences. 🔎
Pupils used ranging poles, tape measures and clinometers to record data, which allowed them to graph beach profiles on their return to school. 🗺📏📈
Measuring pebble sizes and recording wave counts, helped them establish if this coastline was more prone to erosion.
Three sites were chosen for data collection. Two with coastal protection and one without, allowing pupils to fully understand the extent to which coastal management is effective...or not! 🌊
To round things off, ice creams! Well done to the Year 10 Geographers who worked so hard to collect data and make excellent observations of their surroundings!

Mini Masterchefs with Wicor Primary School 👨🍳👩🍳
At Meoncross, being an all-through school means our youngest pupils get to enjoy facilities usually reserved for older students, including our Food Technology kitchen, Design & Technology workshop, and Science Labs.
Recently, we were thrilled to welcome pupils from Wicor Primary School for a special Mini Masterchef experience, hosted by our talented Food Tech teacher. The excitement was palpable as they stepped into the Meoncross kitchen, ready to roll up their sleeves and get baking! 🍴🤩
The young chefs spent the afternoon whipping up delicious muffins 🧁 although we hear a few treats didn’t quite make it home after the bus journey back!
A huge thank you to Wicor for joining us. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to cook up more fun together soon! ❤️ @wicorinsta
