Nursery

An exceptional start for your little one

Our Early Years journey begins in the Nursery for children aged 2.5 years.

Our Nursery provides a warm and friendly introduction to our youngest children set in a bespoke, stimulating and nurturing environment at the heart of the school.

Children benefit from a broad and exciting curriculum that includes weekly lessons in Ballet, French, Music and Drama, all taught by subject specialists, and this is in addition to their expertly delivered Early Years curriculum, where they also enjoy regular beach school, mini-masterchef cooking and gardening club.

A caring and nurturing environment

We take the time to get to know every child, their strengths and areas for development and are guided by the natural bond they make with our experienced and nurturing staff when choosing their key worker.

We work in partnership with home, and use the platform Tapestry to regularly share updates with parents on their child's development and activities they have taken part in. We also actively encourage families to share their child's achievements outside of school with us through this platform, so we can also recognize and celebrate special events and the accomplishments of the children with them. We have an open-door policy for parents to talk to staff and in addition to this, we hold parents’ evenings every term.

A smooth transition

When the time comes for them to join Reception Class, the children are already very familiar and comfortable with the staff, classroom and routines, such as having lunch in the school hall and the drop off and pick up arrangements; all of which create the smoothest transition to full time schooling.

Regular events and collaborative sessions familiarise the Nursery children with the Reception classroom and teachers, as well as their older peers who provide a sense of familiarity, security and support. This helps to develop their confidence further and they grow with a sense of pride at being part of such a strong school community. from such a young age.

Attending whole school events such as our Remembrance Service is significant in many ways. Having our Year 11 pupils support and cheer them on at our annual sports days is also incredibly special for everyone involved.

The nursery at Meoncross is second to none. A wonderful nurturing environment where the children are cared for like their own. A great place to start their learning. Couldn’t be happier.
